Coach Jim started vaulting at Irondequoit High School in upstate New York and still holds the record at 13′.  He bettered that while at SUNY Buffalo, jumping 14′ and getting a masters degree in engineering.  After a long absence, he returned to vaulting when his oldest daughter started jumping at Shrewsbury High School and they discovered Patriot Pole Vault Club.  He is looking forward to setting a new lifetime PR, jumping 13’7″ recently, and has been the Indoor National Champion for his age group twice.  He started coaching the Shrewsbury High vaulters in 2010.  One daughter vaults at Stevens Institute of Technology, the other at Shrewsbury High School.
