Video CameraWe’ve just uploaded our 100th video to YouTube! Since 2008, Patriot Pole Vault Club has been uploading videos from local high school competitions, all the way to elite competitions at the National Pole Vault Summit and the USATF Indoor National Championships. While the technology has evolved over the years, allowing for the inclusion of HD videos, the high-quality vaulting has remained a constant. One of PPVC’s most popular videos with over 7,000 views is from the 2009 Reebok Boston Indoor Games where Olympian Steve Hooker attempted a new pole vault record at 6.16m (20’2″). They even transported the runway from the previous week’s competition at the Millrose Games to the Reggie Lewis Center.

If you haven’t seen it already, be sure to keep an eye on our YouTube Channel to both learn how the best-of-the-best soar over 18 feet, and to catch up on how our own PPVC vaulters are doing in local competitions.

Thanks to all the volunteers over the years who have helped out Coach Ingrid with video recording. For those interested, her current favorite camera is the Kodak PlaySport which is 100% waterproof for those rainy competitions, captures full HD video, and uses standard SD cards, all for about $150.
